Lisa Taylor brings almost two decades of alternative dispute resolution experience to Professional Resolutions Experts of Michigan, focusing exclusively on the use of mediation to resolve family law conflicts since 2008.

Lisa’s decision to concentrate her mediation practice on family law is deeply personal. After earning both her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan, she represented clients in a variety of litigation matters, concentrating on employment and family law. After going through her own difficult divorce and overcoming the emotional impact it had on Lisa and her children, she became a full-time mediator, dedicating her practice to empowering families to civilly settle their differences.

As a mediator, Lisa assists couples to equitably divide property and debt, enabling them to successfully move on with their separate lives, and helps parents in making decisions that are in the best interests of their children. These decisions include determining spousal and child support, detailing parenting schedules, handling joint business interests, evaluating businesses and other assets, dividing retirement accounts, allocating debt, and resolving tax issues. To help parties achieve the best possible outcomes, Lisa has established a network of resources, including mental health professionals, accountants and other financial advisors, realtors, mortgage brokers, and attorney advocates.

In addition to completing the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) Family Law Certificate program, Lisa trained as a mediator with ICLE and the Oakland Mediation Center. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Family Law Section and currently serves as Secretary of the State Bar’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Council.

Lisa received the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section’s George N. Bashara, Jr. Award for exemplary service in 2016 and its “Hero of ADR” Award in 2017. She also has an AV Preeminent Lawyer rating from Martindale Hubbell, representing the highest level of peer recognition.
